I envision a world with well-designed systems, spaces and solutions that suit the society and situation in which we live, empowered by the wisdom of those who came before us, and the knowledge that we currently possess and have yet to discover from people around the world, leading to a more efficient, equitable, interconnected, and inspiring society.
To inspire and provide through economics, entrepreneurship, and exploration of ideas and culture, by:
Empowering stakeholders with critical thinking in planning, designing and building solutions to problems faced by them.
Developing creative and impactful sytems and solutions that suit the community.
Connecting with diverse cultures and communities to broaden perspectives and drive positive change.
Continuously seeking knowledge and growth to better serve and uplift the community.
Economist. As an Economist by training, efficiency and effectiveness is the name of my game. I am fixated on maximising results using the limited available resources that we have to reach a level of sustainable optimisation. I will put theory into practice to get desired results in any field.
Educator. I am currently bonded as a public civil servant educator in a government-run college with at least 8 years of experience. I take pleasure in teaching Business A-Level as it is a subject that can provide a holistic learning experience where my students can be equipped with the soft skills they need alongside the theory taught. I am also the school's Career Guidance Team Manager in charge of guiding the whole student population's career journeys.
Entrepreneur. As an Economist specialising in the area of Business, and as a Business tutor, I am highly resourceful and entrepreneurial in thinking and have often given out-of-the-box solutions to problems faced in organisations that I have worked in, and include areas such as Strategic Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations as well as Finance. I am currently working on a few business projects / ventures that will sustain me beyond my public civil service years. I see myself as an agent of change. Recognising that change is the only constant, I am always on my toes and ready to dip into new things and out of my comfort zone in especially what could potentially be the next big thing.
Explorer. My pursuit of knowledge extends beyond boundaries. I travel to learn. Every society has unique solutions to problems that we all face in our own individual societies and circumstances. It is very enlightening to see how they solve theirs and we can definitely learn and take away some of these to be used in our own context. Aside from that I find pleasure and inspiration in meeting new people and new places. Always longing to be in places where no one knows who I am. Living life on the edge in more ways than one. Based in Brunei 🇧🇳 but a world citizen 🌐
Curious. A life-long learner and always interested in exploring new things, I believe that knowledge really is power and it empowers whoever that possesses it. I believe that knowledge is a tool that can be used for both good and bad, and that will depend on its user. They say curiosity kills the cat, but I prefer to say that curiosity brings the cat to places.
Creative. I enjoy creating new things, whether it be physical objects or abstract concepts or solutions. Creating things to me is the best expression of whatever knowledge I possess. Creating is also a way for me to show what I stand for. I intend to continue creating for the betterment of the society in which I live in.
Competitive. I strive under competitive conditions. Having said that, I only compete in areas which matter to me. But when I do decide to compete, I will aim to be the very best.
